SThe Dairy Barn presents the 16th biennial juried exhibit. Quilt National 09 is a collection of 85 quilts by artists from 25 states and 13 foreign countries.  In September the full exhibition will travel to the Foundry Art Centre in St. Charles, Missouri where it will be on display until October 29th for an admission fee of $6.  This exhibition is sponsored by Safe Connections, in partnership with the Foundry Art Centre.

Quilt National was created to demonstrate the transformations taking place in the world of quilting.  Its purpose is to carry the definition of quilting far beyond traditional parameters and to promote quilt making as it always has been – an art form. 

The 2009 exhibition was juried by Sue Benner, Katie Pasquini Masopust, and Ned West.  The jurors selected works that represent unique approaches to the medium and that demonstrate the extensiveness and diversity of contemporary expressions.

The Foundry Art Centre will host a series of “Luncheon with the Artist” talks on Thursdays in October.  The Nationally-renowned textile artists will share their love of the art over a catered meal for $10.
