FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Atlanta Artist Ruth Stanford Featured at Foundry Art Centre
St. Charles, MO – Ruth Stanford’s sculpture Inevitable Architecture is part of the Group IV show currently on display at the Foundry Art Centre. Her art practice revolves around installation and site-specific sculpture with particular media chosen in service to concept. Her work draws from and expands on personal reflection to create broader metaphors relevant to the world at large, exploring history and notions of presence/absence, permanence/impermanence, fiction/reality, conscious/unconscious. She views each element of her projects as an individual data point referencing a complex phylogeny of personal and collective experience.
Ruth Stanford received an MFA from Carnegie Mellon University in 2005 and a BFA from the University of Texas at Austin in 2000. She also holds BS and MS degrees in Zoology and worked as an endangered species ecologist prior to beginning a career in art.
Inevitable Architecture will be on display as part of the Group IV exhibition through March 26th. For more information or show hours call the Foundry Art Centre at 636-255-0270.
