ART START
EVERY TUESDAY AT 10:00 AM
Join us for Art Start every Tuesday morning! Art Start is a great opportunity for your young child to experience art! Art Start story times are geared to the 2–5-year-old preschooler with a caregiver. We will explore several books together and create a small art project that pairs with the stories. Art Start is always FREE.
For groups of more than 5 please call for accommodations. Siblings welcome.
FIRST FRIDAYS ART ACTIVITIES
FIRST FRIDAY OF EACH MONTH FROM 5:00 TO 8:00 PM
On the first Friday of each month, families and visitors of all ages are invited to join the Foundry
and celebrate the arts. The FAC will be open for extended hours through 8pm for visitors
to spend time in the galleries, meet resident studio artists, engage with the community,
and enjoy a wide array of art programming, entertainment, and special events.
SECOND SATURDAYS
EVERY SECOND SATURDAY FROM 1:00 TO 3:00 PM
Bring the entire family to the Foundry for a fun activity-filled afternoon!
Enjoy a tour of our current exhibitions and explore your creativity with our hands-on art
activities. Each month will feature an art project inspired by our current exhibitions.

Family Workshops- Second Saturdays
The Foundry’s Family Workshops are a great opportunity to spend one-on-one time with your favorite little while learning new creative skills. Children, along with a favorite grown-up, will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on, art-making experiences that will help them learn, explore, and create together. Family workshops are suggested for children ages 5 to 12 with their favorite grown-up, however all ages are welcome.
Second Saturdays at the Foundry provide the opportunity for families to participate in self-guided art-making, gallery exploration and interaction with working artists. Explore materials, learn new techniques, and meet other community members while enjoying creative time with your family. Second Saturday is on open house-style workshop where your family has the freedom to drop in anytime between 1 and 3 PM.
Sculpture in the Baue Children’s Gallery
Saturday, December 14 | 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm | All Ages | Free
Join us on this Second Saturday as we create whimsical sculptures inspired by artist Steve Jones. Steve’s honest and humorous sculptures are represented in our Main Galleries this month as part of the 8x8x8 Winter Exhibition. Instructions, inspiration, and supplies will be provided.

Free Family Open Studio
Invitation to Create at the Foundry provides the opportunity for families to participate in self-guided art-making, gallery exploration and interaction with working artists. Each Saturday of the month, families can explore materials, learn new techniques, and meet other community members while enjoying creative time with their loved ones. All ages are welcome.
January Invitation to Create

This month’s Invitation to Create will feature an art project inspired by featured artist Ben Bradshaw. Drop in on a Saturday in January to view Ben’s wonderful work in the Main Gallery and then create your own colorful abstract masterpiece. Instructions, inspiration, and supplies will be provided.
February Invitation to Create

This month’s Invitation to Create will feature an art project inspired by featured artist Ronnie the Painter who is featured in out East Gallery this month. Drop in on a Saturday in February to view Ronnie’s dynamic paintings and then create your own colorful masterpiece. Instructions, inspiration, and supplies will be provided.
March Invitation to Create

This month’s Invitation to Create will feature an art project inspired by featured artist Lisa Hinrichs who is featured in out East gallery this month. Drop in on a Saturday in March to view Lisa’s beautiful fiber art and then create your own colorful fiber masterpiece. Instructions, inspiration, and supplies will be provided.
April Invitation to Create

This month’s Invitation to Create will feature an art project inspired by the American Society of Botanical Artists. Drop in on a Saturday in April to view these beautiful creations in our Main Gallery, and then create your own botanical prints. Instructions, inspiration, and supplies will be provided
May Invitation to Create

This month’s Invitation to Create will feature an art project inspired by artist Katherine Alexander who is featured in out East gallery this month. Drop in on a Saturday in May to decorate a clay egg using Pysanky (the traditional Ukrainian art of writing on eggs). Instructions, inspiration, and supplies will be provided.
