Natalie Schloss
River Views
November 5, 2021 - January 4, 2022
Opening Reception November 5, 5-8 PM
In the Ameristar Gallery, Foundry Studio Artist Natalie Schloss presents her most recent body of work, River Views.
River Views is inspired by Natalie’s distinct viewpoint of the Missouri River from her studio windows. The movement of light and its momentary nature, combined with texture and dimensions of the land, have inspired countless images that have contributed to Natalie’s current body of work.
Like artists of the past, Natalie has repeatedly worked the same subject in different lights, at different hours of the day, and in various weather and seasons. In River Views, 15+ multi-layered, multi-media pieces represent a small glimpse into the scenery that has evoked appreciation, distraction, and inspiration.
Natalie Schloss is a St. Louis native and national award-winning professional artist. She graduated from the University of Dallas with a Bachelor of Arts in Painting and Art History, and became a studio artist at the Foundry Art Centre in 2013.
Managing a multi-faceted art practice, Natalie teaches art classes and workshops, including a class for students on the Spectrum, and she enjoys working with children and adults with disabilities. She has been a mentor and teacher to hundreds of students, and she has professionally judged state art exhibitions for art councils and competitions. Natalie creates beautiful visions of the world through changing landscapes and subjects. Architecture, landscapes, and perspectives of St. Louis and St. Charles have become a large part of her portfolio.
River Views will be on exhibit through January 4th in the Ameristar Gallery, the home gallery of the Foundry Art Centre’s studio artists.
