Tween & Teen

The Foundry’s tween and teen workshops provide an opportunity for children ages 10-18 to create with their peers while working with professional artists. Students will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on art-making experiences that will expose them to new art processes and work to perfect their budding artistic talent. All supplies are provided and all skill levels are welcome. 

Pet Portrait – Painting
Saturday, February 2 | 12 to 2:30 pm | Ages 10-14 | $45

Those big, sweet eyes. Those lovable, furry paws. You have the best pet in the world, don’t you? In this exciting painting class, your child will create a lasting memory of their favorite pet! Through the guidance of Beena McMahan, your child will leave with a painted masterpiece of their fur baby. When you register your child, you’ll be sent instructions in a confirmation email on how to submit a clear photo of the pet’s face so our instructor can prepare supplies in advance of the class. Tween and Teen Introduction to Drawing
Saturdays April, 11, 18, 25, May 2, 9 and 16 | 11:00 am to 12:00 pm | Ages 10-14 | $175

Join us at the Foundry Art Centre for this exciting 6 week drawing course presented by artist Beena McMahan! In this introductory drawing workshop, students will go over basic skills that will help them learn to draw from life. They will also be introduced to topics such as contour lines, tone and shading, simplifying complex items into shapes, and perspective. Students will work in various materials such as pencil, charcoal, marker, and ink.  All supplies provided. Tween and Teen Intermediate Drawing
Saturdays April, 11, 18, 25, May 2, 9 and 16 | 11:00 am to 12:00 pm | Ages 10-14 | $175

Students who have a solid background in drawing will love this new class presented by artist Beena McMahan! In this 6 week session, students will build upon their basic drawing skills to tackle intermediate topics like perspective, portrait, and still life. Students will work in various materials such as pencil, charcoal, marker, and ink. All supplies provided. Kids

The Foundry’s Kids Workshops are a great opportunity for your child to explore their creative side and learn new artistic skills. Children ages 7-12 will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on, art-making experiences that will help them learn, explore, and create confidently. Please note that these are a drop-off classes. Feel free to tour our current exhibitions while your child creates!

Art Club
Thursdays Beginning January 21 | 5:00 to 6:00 pm | Ages 7-11| $12.50/week 

Back by popular demand, the Foundry Art Centre Art Club is an opportunity for kids to explore, invent, experiment and CREATE! Students will explore various art forms from painting to drawing to sculpture and more. This drop-in art club is for ages 7-11 and will meet on various Thursdays from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm. Sign up for each week that you want to attend. Sessions include all materials and tools. If you need accommodations for this program, please contact the Foundry as soon as you are able.

Limited seats available and advanced registration required so sign up today to secure your creative seat. The Foundry Art Centre does not make up or refund classes if a student misses a class.
