The Foundry Art Centre offers unique opportunities to try your hand at new techniques, explore different mediums, and create finished pieces that you can proudly display or share with friends and family. Join us for a fun evening of creation and exploration.

ADULT WORKSHOPS

Join the Foundry Art Centre for an evening of grown-up fun! Bring a date, a friend, bring any adult you want. No art skills needed, but you can flex those social muscles as you pick up a new creative skill. 21+ only, please.


Evening Stitch ‘n B***h
Monthly on Third Thursdays: January 15, February 19, March 19, April 16, May 21 | 6:00 to 8:00 pm | FREE

Stitch ‘n Bitch with us during the Foundry’s new FREE fiber crafts club. All fiber crafts are welcome, from knitting, to embroidery, to crochet and beyond. Whether it’s your first time trying it, or you’re a pro. This is not a fibers class, but crafters are welcome to help each other out. Vibe with us as we craft, and… bitch. BYO snacks & supplies. Stitch n’ Bitch with us during the Foundry Art Centre’s FREE fiber crafts club! All fiber crafts are welcome from knitting, to embroidery, to crochet, and beyond. This is not a class-but of course all skill levels are welcome and crafters are welcome to help each other out. Hip Hop Dance with Tyrus Watson
Wednesdays: April 22 & May 27
6 - 7 pm | $15 per session

Hip Hop dance class is coming to the Foundry Art Centre!  Bring a friend and learn the art of Hip Hop Dance with Tyrus Watson!  With over 15 years of experience, Tyrus is a versatile dancer, choreographer, and instructor. His career has included choreographing for artists like Chingy, competing on major platforms like So You Think You Can Dance, and performing in live shows. As an instructor, he's dedicated to sharing his passion and expertise with the next generation of dancers.  This class is for all skill levels and is available for adult students 18+.

Figure Drawing
Monthly on Wednesdays: January 14, February 11, March 11, April 8, May 13, June 10, July 8 | 6 - 8 pm | $15 per session

The Foundry Art Centre is offering an opportunity to draw from a live model without instruction. The Foundry will provide a model for 2 hours during which participants can practice their figure drawing at their own pace, work on incorporating a figure into an existing piece, or however they’d like to use their time. Foundry staff members – who are also practicing artists – will facilitate the session. Each session will include a series of short poses (1 – 5 min) as well as some longer poses (10 – 20min). This class is for adult students (ages 21+). Space is limited and registration is required. It is recommend that participants bring tools and surfaces of their choice to the session. Botanical Casting with Ramona Kristmann
Wednesday, April 22 | 5:30 to 8 pm | $60

Celebrate Earth Day and learn the art of botanical bas-relief casting with botanical artist Ramona Kristmann! Bas-relief casting is a simple and rewarding way to capture the ephemeral beauty of nature in a lasting art form. No artistic experience is necessary! You’ll leave this workshop with a botanical casting and ideas how to dry-cure and finish your piece at home. Sign-up with a friend or come make some new friends. Either way, you'll have fun creating beautiful botanical impressions. Lovely Upcycled Jewelry with Christy Brinkman
An Adult Jewelry-Making Class with Serious Throwback Vibes

Saturday, May 2 | 2 to 4 pm | $55

Ready to turn your inner 8-year-old’s favorite craft into your most iconic accessory? Join us for this quirky, colorful, and creatively charged jewelry-making class where Shrinky Dinks get a glow-up for grown-ups. In this ultra-fun, hands-on workshop, artist Christy Brinkman will help you design, draw, and shrink your own custom artwork to create one-of-a-kind earrings from recyclable plastics. Think statement pieces, retro flair, and wearable art that screams "I made this and yes, I AM amazing." Come get crafty, make some shiny new friends, and leave with jewelry that’s 100% you. Instructor Christy Brinkman-Robertson is a jewelry maker that's passionate about reusing and repurposing items, specializing in transforming everyday materials into one-of-a-kind earrings and necklaces. She has been making jewelry since 2012 and has put her studio art degree to use in this work, starting Lovely Upcycled Things, a line of jewelry. You can view this work at lovelyupcycledthings.com, on Instagram @lovelyupcycledthings, and some work is currently being sold in the Foundry Art Centre gift shop. She is based out of Terre Haute, Indiana, where she also works as the art curator for Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology's art collection. She loves to be surrounded by arts and crafts in every aspect of life! 

Hammered Earring Workshop with Shanika Hartrum
Saturday, May 9 | 11 am – 2:00 pm | Ages 16+ | $95

Join artist Shanika Hartrum for a fun and creative hands-on Hammered Earring workshop where you’ll design and create 2–3 pairs of your own earrings from start to finish. In this class, you’ll learn traditional silversmithing techniques like how to texture, shape, refine, and polish silver. You’ll also learn the basics of soldering with a torch, along with simple finishing techniques that bring out the unique beauty and shine of the metal.

Whether you’re brand new to metalsmithing or looking to build on skills from a previous workshop, this class is a great way to explore new textures and designs while creating jewelry you’ll be excited to wear or gift. All tools and lots of material (sterling silver, copper & brass) will be provided.  You’ll be guided step by step in a relaxed, supportive, and creative studio environment. Limited seats available and advanced registration required so sign up today to secure your creative seat. The Foundry Art Centre does not make up or refund classes if a student misses a class.
