The Foundry Art Centre juries for studios; therefore, applications are accepted for individual artists who want a studio or groups of up to four artists who wish to share a studio. The call for applications occurs on an as-needed basis when studios become available.

The two-phase process allows a team of jurors to review work for quality and merit. The juror panel will also consider artists' ability to successfully interact with the general public, other resident artists, and positively contribute to the overall Foundry community.

Each application will be scored as a single applicant. The application process is in three phases and worth a total of 100 points.

PHASE I

Considers artistic merit and will be blind juried, with jurors only looking at the art. Jurors will look for original thought and intent, technique and materials, and a demonstrated excellence in craftsmanship. This phase will also consider the applicant's backgrounds. Jurors will review submitted artists statements, CVs, and web/social presence looking for artists who can explain their art and want to engage and interact with the public through their work and studio practice.

75 points maximum, 50 points needed to advance

PHASE II

In-person interview. Jurors will have the opportunity to meet and interact with applicants through meetings at the Foundry. This phase will allow jurors the opportunity to see the work in-person and review it for quality and presentation. Jurors will consider the applicants' ability to communicate about their work, with an eye toward their desire to positively engage with the public.

25 points maximum

The applicants who score the highest will be offered a studio.
