Melissa Whiteman’s paintings explore the raw power and inexplicable beauty of Midwest storms. Much like her subject matter, Whiteman’s process evolves and changes, sometimes turbulently, with the hope that each painting will capture the fleeting beauty of ever-changing skies.
About the Artist
Melissa Whiteman is an award winning, self taught artist born in St. Louis, Missouri. Since the late 90s, she has specialized in weather-related paintings. Her work has been published in numerous periodicals including Missouri Life, Weatherwise, and Studio Visit Magazine, featured on KTVI Fox 2 News for meteorologist Dave Murray’s Spring Weather Forecast program, and shown on the National Weather Services website.
