Taylor Marrie
Remnants

January 5 - February 24, 2024

Statement

Taylor uses bold, bright, and peculiar imagery in a journalistic form to tell stories of self discovery, identity, and the dynamics of human relationships. She takes a past experience or lesson she’s learned from and concentrates all of that energy into a piece, resulting in her maximalist style. There is something for everyone to take away or relate to in her scenes; hidden within the paintings are small Easter eggs that can be discovered across several works at a time. These visual links connect on with another and help continue a story when one canvas just isn’t large enough or when the narrative continues.

Bio

Taylor Marrie is a visual artist based in Saint Louis, Missouri. After graduating from Webster University in 2023, with her BFA in Fine Arts, she was selected as a 2022 Saint Louis Art Fair Emerging Artist. She exhibited in Post-Departure in May of 2023, which ultimately lead to her work at the Foundry Art Centre in St. Charles, Missouri, as a studio artist to further her studio practice, as well as a children's art camp teacher. She has exhibited work in St. Louis with the Kranzberg Foundation.

Remnants will be on exhibit through February 24 in the East Gallery, the home gallery of the Foundry Art Centre’s studio artists.
