Statement
Dreams continually shape my life & the objects that I create. I often receive clear visions and messages while meditating or dreaming. These visions manifest into thoughtful jewelry designs infused with symbols, uplifting words and natural gemstones.
I love jewelry design as a creative outlet because of the intimate relation jewelry has to the body. Jewelry is meant to be touched, held and worn; it is an art-form that can hold deep sentimental value. When designing, I like to think about how my creation will relate to a body, and how it will support the wearer. I strive to create meaningful pieces that have depth and complexity beyond aesthetics; with the intention to uplift and empower the wearer.
My work is inspired by nature, textiles, and ancient artifacts. I often clearly see designs in my dreams. I enjoy exploring mixed-metals, texture and complex patterns in my metalwork.
Every piece within my body of work has been created using traditional metalsmithing techniques. The techniques that I commonly use include hand-stamping, soldering, keum-boo, enameling, wax-carving, riveting & stone-setting. I have obtained a BFA in Metals/Jewelry Design and have been trained in CAD/CAM and Lapidary Arts. I use lapidary machines to polish stones to any size & shape desired for one-of-a-kind & custom projects. I also have the capability to design in CAD/CAM if a project calls for it.
I accept custom designs as time & energy allows. My favorite projects to work on are memorial pieces & unique engagement rings.
When I’m not working in my studio, you’ll find me at fine art shows around the country. I welcome you to come visit me in my studio & to browse the collection of works that I have on display here.
